The Bârsana in white hemp is a different proposition from the linen version — same silhouette, same collar, same coconut buttons, entirely different material and entirely different character. This hemp is grown in Ukraine, woven in Bucharest, and carries with it the full weight of a supply chain that De IONESCU has been building for over five years. Lightweight, breathable, and honest in the way that only natural fabric can be — with a subtle woven texture that catches the light and gives the white a depth that plain fabric never could.

The collar gives it structure. The sleeveless cut gives it ease. Buttoned all the way down with organic coconut buttons, fitted gently through the body, with a rounded hem that sits well tucked or untucked. White without being clinical. Natural without being beige. The kind of white that makes everything around it look more considered.

Every collar is hand-finished entirely by Mrs. Dana — our in-house collar specialist, a woman who treats a collar the way a poet treats a first line. Every pattern piece is cut individually by Mrs. Elena before a single stitch is placed. Every button is sewn by hand by Mrs. Mihaela — because a button that comes off after two washes is not a button, it's a disappointment. Mrs. Ana inspects and packs every single piece before it ships.
